6 free Alternatives To Expensive Softwares That Are Just As Good

Do you know what’s expensive? Software that has licensing fees. Do you know what doesn’t have licensing fees? Some of the free software alternatives featured in this blog!

It’s an age-old dilemma. You want to run your business as efficiently as possible, but your budget is tight. You’ve heard that pirating software can save you some money, but you know that doesn’t come without risks: not only do you miss out on the security updates and customer service that come with legitimate licenses, but you also risk opening up your computer to dangerous malware. So how do you improve your efficiency without putting your security at risk?

Businesses of all sizes are constantly looking for ways to save money, and A better solution would be to use free software alternatives, many of which are just as good as their more expensive counterparts. Here are six of my favorites:

Paid SoftwareCost per monthAlternative Software for free
Adobe Photoshop9.99$Photopea
Adobe Spark9.99$Canva
Later12.5$Creator Studio
Final Cut Pro4.5$Inshot
Adobe Premiere 20.99$Davinci resolve
Sprout social99$Social Blade

Photopea – free photoshop alternative

photopea

If you need a quick and free way to edit graphics, Photopea can be your tool. It’s a web-based editor that works like Photoshop, with the ability to work with raster and vector graphics.

But instead of paying Adobe $239 (or more) per year for its software, you can use Photopea for free without ever having to install anything on your computer.

Canva — a free adobe spark alternative

If you want to design anything from a business card to an ebook cover, you will likely be signed up for Adobe Spark. It’s free, but the downside is that it’s only a 14-day trial. After that, plans start at $9.99 per month. But why pay for it when Canva is also free and web-based?

With Canva, you can create amazing graphics in no time without having to install anything or learn complicated software. In fact, they have more than 60k templates so all you have to do is fill in your information and add your own images if required. In minutes, you’ll have a beautiful graphic that would cost you if not hundreds of dollars with Adobe Spark than at least the $9.99 per month subscription fee. The best thing about this service though is that once your graphic has been completed, it’s ready to use straight away on your website or social media accounts or even just print out and put on display on your business premises.

Creator studio- a free alternative to later.com

creator studio

I know I promised you that this was a list of free alternatives, but I have to tell you about Later.com.

Later is a paid tool, but it’s worth mentioning because it’s so damn good and is less than $12.50 per month (when billed annually). This tool helps you plan your Instagram posts ahead of time, manage multiple accounts from one place and schedule your posts to go out at exactly the right time to boost engagement.

If you’re looking for a more affordable alternative to Later (which is still an excellent tool), then check out Creator Studio by Facebook. Creator Studio lets creators and publishers manage posts, insights, and messages from all of your Facebook pages in one place.

Inshot — a free alternative to final cut pro

free software alternatives
  • You can pay $299 for Final Cut Pro, or you can download InShot– a free alternative with professional features.
  • Complete editing tool — You won’t need to download any other apps to make your videos look great, as this app has everything you need right in one place.
  • HD export — Want high-quality videos? Export your videos and photos in HD quality.

Davinci resolve -a free alternative of adobe premiere

If you’re really into video editing and don’t have the cash to invest in a subscription to Adobe Premiere Pro (which costs $20.99 per month), then consider DaVinci Resolve. It’s an awesome color grading and non-linear video editing application that is available for free.

Resolve has got all the tools you need to edit, adjust colors, mix audio, add titles, and more! If you have ever used Premiere Pro before, then Resolve will feel right at home.

Social blade — a free alternative to Sproutsocial

social blade

Sprout Social is a comprehensive social media management tool. Users can schedule and publish content across all their social accounts, as well as listen for trends and engage with their audience on the platforms. For businesses looking to go beyond the basics of scheduling tweets, Sprout Social is a great option — but it isn’t free. The basic plan starts at $99 per month, and that’s only if you pay annually; month-to-month, the price jumps up to $129 per month.

But there are plenty of tools out there that offer similar functionality for free or cheaper than Sprout Social charges, especially if your business has simple needs or is just starting out. One alternative worth checking out: Social Blade. It serves essentially the same function as Sprout Social, except it’s totally free! It displays ranking information in addition to analytics on YouTube channels (and other social platforms).

Another benefit? You don’t need a massive marketing budget to take advantage of its services!

There’s no reason to pay for expensive software when there are so many high-quality and free alternatives out there

The point is that software is never really “free.” In order to use a piece of software, you must make sacrifices in either time or effort. You can pay for the convenience of using a pre-made application that saves you massive amounts of time, or you can roll up your sleeves and create your own tools from scratch. Either way, becoming a great designer—and subsequently obtaining the work of your choosing—will require hard work and dedication. There are some free software alternatives that will give you great, finished products, as well as give you a free alternative to paying for expensive software. So don’t be afraid to look at free software alternatives!
